Hi Kids!
I hope this finds you happy and most of all well.
I've had PatriciaMonkey blog, website, etsy store and business name for a long loooong time. It came to be after the shop Tumbling Monkeys closed years ago. I have been a full time artist for a long time. Participating in juried art shows, solo exhibits and consigning my art at shops and galleries all over the place. Working out of my studio in our old Victorian home here in Berlin, Maryland.
Last year we opened The Dusty Lamb in a tiny store front in town just off Main Street. The very back was my tiny work space where I painted and made things to sell. It was a great first year. Then this past winter a larger spot opened up on the South end of Main Street. A beautiful space. Both for showing local art and all the great merchandise that we sell. It gives me more studio space to create in.
I don't need to tell you what lousy timing that move has turned out to be.
We were open TWO weeks and then the pandemic shutdown happened.
We are still so happy we did it. Just very anxious.
I have been wanting to restart a blog of sorts- just to be able to post new items and even stuff that's going on in Berlin. So here it is! LAMB DUST.
We are determined to hang in there! The Governor is making an announcement this afternoon. I have a feeling it will be to open some things up. I feel like it's too soon with numbers of cases in our area still climbing. I also know that we need to sell some things in order to stay afloat.
So we will be deciding what to do and when we feel comfortable opening safely. The last thing I want to do is have a part in anybody getting sick.
Our website is up and running. I'm adding new things daily. I am offering free local delivery, free shipping for those farther away and you can always meet me to pick up your order.
I will probably start our reopening with by appointment shopping. I'll let you know as soon as any changes happen.
